Job Title: Curriculum Content Writer (Assamese)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Summary:
The Curriculum Content Writer – Assamese will develop accurate, engaging, and age-appropriate Assamese educational content for students in Classes 3–8, including textbook-based worksheets, grammar and vocabulary resources, activities, questions, and answer keys aligned with prescribed SEBA/SCERT textbooks.
The role calls for strong written and spoken Assamese, a firm grasp of Assamese grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and sentence construction, and the ability to translate and proofread content originally written in English or Hindi. The Content Writer will also carry out basic research to verify language usage, terminology, and grammar, working closely with the curriculum team to keep all content accurate, consistent, learner-friendly, and appropriate to the intended class level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality Assamese worksheets and learning resources based on prescribed SEBA/SCERT textbooks for Classes 3–8.
  • Create grammar, vocabulary, and activity-based worksheets that are age-appropriate, engaging, and aligned with the learning objectives of the relevant class and chapter.
  • Design questions, exercises, activities, and answer keys based on textbook chapters and prescribed learning outcomes.
  • Translate educational content from English/Hindi into clear, accurate, age-appropriate Assamese while preserving the intended meaning and context.
  • Proofread and edit translated Assamese content for grammar, spelling, sentence construction, vocabulary, terminology, clarity, and consistency.
  • Conduct basic research to verify Assamese grammar rules, terminology, vocabulary, word usage, meanings, synonyms, antonyms, and other language-related information.
  • Build class/level-wise Assamese word banks with meanings, usage, synonyms, antonyms, and relevant examples.
  • Review prescribed SEBA/SCERT textbooks for Classes 3–8 and curate content in line with the prescribed curriculum and chapter objectives.
  • Adapt content to suit the language proficiency, comprehension level, and learning needs of students across different classes.
  • Maintain consistency in Assamese terminology, spelling, grammar, sentence construction, formatting, and instructional language across all learning resources.
  • Review and revise content based on feedback from curriculum leads, educators, and subject matter experts.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality, attention to detail, and timely completion of assigned content.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Assamese, Education, Literature, or a related field.
  • Strong written and spoken command of Assamese, with excellent knowledge of grammar, spelling, sentence construction, and vocabulary.
  • Good understanding of school-level Assamese language and the ability to write simple, clear, age-appropriate content.
  • Familiarity with SEBA/SCERT textbooks and the school curriculum, preferably for Classes 3–8.
  • Experience or demonstrated ability in educational content writing, curriculum development, translation, proofreading, or academic writing.
  • Ability to translate educational content accurately from English/Hindi into Assamese while retaining the original meaning and context.
  • Strong research skills, with the ability to verify grammar, terminology, vocabulary, meanings, synonyms, antonyms, and word usage.
  • Ability to develop learner-centric worksheets, activities, questions, and answer keys.
  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple content requirements, meet timelines, and incorporate feedback effectively.
  • Proficiency in basic digital tools for content creation and documentation is preferred.
  • Excellent research, writing, and editing skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology tools for content creation (preferred).
