Job Title: Student Counsellor
Location: Guwahati

Role Summary:
The Student Counsellor is responsible for supporting students’ emotional, psychological, and academic well-being through individual and group counselling sessions. The role involves assessing student needs, providing guidance on personal and academic challenges, and promoting mental health awareness within the institution. The counsellor collaborates with teachers, parents, and staff to ensure a supportive environment, while maintaining strict confidentiality and ethical standards. Additionally, the role includes conducting workshops, handling crisis situations, and contributing to community engagement initiatives, including parenting support and advisory programs, to foster overall student development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Counselling Services: Offer individual and group counselling sessions to students addressing personal, academic, and emotional challenges and involve in community engagement—especially through parenting support and advisory spaces
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct assessments to understand students' needs and develop personalized counselling plans.
- Confidentiality: Maintain a confidential and safe environment for students to discuss sensitive issues.
- Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support during student crises and refer to additional resources if necessary.
- Monitor Progress: Track student progress and adjust counselling plans as required.
- Workshops and Seminars: Conduct workshops on stress management, study skills, mental health awareness, and related topics.
- Collaboration: Work with teachers and staff to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of counselling sessions and student progress.
- Promote Mental Health: Raise awareness on mental health issues and reduce stigma within the student community.
- Availability: Be available for scheduled sessions and offer support during emergencies as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduation/ Postgraduate in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in student counselling, school/college counselling, or working with adolescents/young adults (Freshers with relevant internships may also apply).
- Experience in handling emotional, academic, and behavioral concerns of students.
- Exposure to conducting workshops, awareness sessions, or group counselling is desirable.
